Hi

So this evening I was staring lovingly at my tank and noticed my two hermits being right little pests.

One was harassing a turbo snail and had managed to turn the snail upside down.  Sorted that out and not even 5 minutes later the other one was starting to pick on my nem!

There's loads of algae and stuff for them to eat in the tank and, in my opinion, they've already "over extended" themselves with the shells they've chosen from the variety in the tank.

I'm now paranoid about keeping an eye out for those two trouble makers!  Any suggestions on how to stop/avoid this or is this perhaps just a one off?

Thing with hermits is it's not about the quantity of shells 🐚 in the tank it's about what one they want,
They are mischievous but very funny to watch ,
You say you have spare 🐚 in the tank, might pay to get some that are a bit bigger ,not to big obviously but they do grow so need bigger shells 🐚.
Try that ,sooner the better or they might start attacking you're snails for there 🐚,try to pick a few weird shaped ones aswell they seem to like them,
Hope this helps,good luck,

I've got a few bigger ones in there already but will order some now.  They've been mostly hiding today, I think the giant claw I use to get to the bottom, scared the bejeezes out of them

Thought I'd share my latest drama... I've just had to save my Hermit from my BTA who had him wedged in a hole.

The f...er wasn't happy about me taking his dinner away and got proper big and angry the first time I tried to retrieve the hermit....

Second time I think it realized there was no way to get the hermit to it's mouth so reluctantly have it up.

Jeesh I love this hobby!  Always something happening.

My LFS had a Maroon Clownfish that feeds hermits to its BTA. Funny to watch. Cant sell it as it tried to do the same to other fish
