Hi all. I recently purchased a 200ltr tank 120cm/38cm/50cm. It has a glass lid with a wooden hood on top too. My current plan is not to run it with a sump tank so opting for a hang on protein skimmer so thoughts on that would be greatly appreciated. Is it good or bad? After a fair amount of research my list of equipment purchases is
Deltec mce300 hang on protein skimmer
2 x jecod sw2 wavemakers
Eheim thermopreset heater 150w or 200w
Tmc aquabar t series twin 120cm 36w/54w marine led lights reef white/Fiji purple

My current hope is to eventually have a decent reef setup running with mixture of fish and corals.

How does this list sound? All input greatly recieved. Many thanks in advance.

Hi that’s a good choice of hob skimmer.

You should be fine with a 150w heater.

The T-Bar's have a habit of blowing.. ( Mind you, most TMC lights do! ) Run them with the controller at less than max and they should last.

Thanks. I was talking to someone in a shop about the aquabeam and they didn't have a great opinion of them so my current thoughts now is to go with led t5 bulbs on a controller. Start with blue and white bulbs then as tank develops add extra bulb or two. Cost slightly more but they recon they would be much more effective?

I'm guessing they were Arcadia T5 LED's ? There was a few companies making LED T5's but not sure who is actually left. The main reason for T5's is the spread and growth you get.
