Hi  all this might be a silly question but can a common clown fish love an anemone to death reason being I have just lost a lovely malu anemone for no  apparent  reason other than one little clown fish  other than this clown fish would not leave the anemone alone I have 4 bta in the tank with another malu anemone which the clown fish showed no interest I have removed the clown but the anemone turned upside down and unfortunatly  did not survive has any one else had this happen  all the other nems seem fine.

Well I never heard that one before.
A clown killing its host , I know you don't need a anemone to keep clowns they do ok without and not all clowns will take to a anemone it's not a foregoing conclusion
They will automatically live in it .
I'll see if I can find anything out for you and get back soon as

Just found this out for you
yes, clowns very often host their anemones to death. it is important to get an anemone much larger than the clownfish which can be a pain sometimes.
So answer to you're question is
Yes ,
